Just wanted to share some extra good deals I got this weekend, or what I like to call Blog Fluff!
- Blog Fluff [blog fluhf] noun 1. Inserts or posts into a blog that are without real purpose just to have something to post about.
First I got up uber early this morning (6:30am) to catch the last day of Joann's Grand Opening sale in my town (they opened at 9am). They were just moving to a new better location in a previous Bed, Bath and Beyond. And you know those stores are huge. Well for their Grand Opening they were giving gift cards between $10 to $250 to the first 100 people each day. Wish I would have known that sooner but I did get in for the final day. So did Christy!
I stood in line for about an hour and a half and Christy about an hour (It was a nice surprise that Christy came, this was totally not planned). They gave out numbers to let you know you get a card to make sure that it was an 18+ thing. A lot of people brought their kids and I overheard were upset that everyone couldn't get one, but I am glad they made it fair for us that do not have kids.
<~My spot. #18 ;) I was sitting, I promise I'm not that short. The guy beside me knitting was kind of cool to watch though.
<~Christy's spot #50.
Don't worry we stood together after she got there. I wouldn't let her bake in the hot sun alone, and boy was it hot. I even went to her position in line to be courteous of others.
We both received a $10.00 gift card. (My husbands conversation with me last night: J:"When are you going?" S:"7am." J:"For a $10 Gift Card?" S:"Yes." J:" Do you realize that's only $5 an hour? I'll give you $10 if you want to sleep in." S: <argued that it wasn't the same, This was $10 I didn't have before.) Men just don't get it. ;)
Christy and I probably spent and hour just walking around and getting inspirations from ever turn into an isle. Ideas popping into our brains like an overgrown flower field. So much you want to do, so little time!
I came out with the 'Heirloom' paper pack by:DCWV that was on sale for $7.77, a CuttleBug Embossing Folder Set 'Timeless' for $4.97, and a Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Crushed Olive. But I didn't stop there! My next stop was to Michaels where I picked up a K&Company 'Thanksgiving' Adhesive Chipboard Embellishment Pack for $1.49 and a Recollections Card and Envelope Pack in 'Shimmer Brown' for $1.47. Was I through? Nope! Hobby Lobby was next where I perused their Clearance section and found a DOUBLE Pack of K&Company 'Eco Modern' 150 piece Die-cut Cardstock *So about 300 pieces* for $3.49. One pack had been opened and one embellishment torn, so they just stuck a new pack to it and bundled it up to make up for it Reg. $5.99 each. What a deal! I love the great fall colors on these. So for $13.85 including tax I had a great shopping day with some great company.
*Disclaimer: Susan is not insane (not today anyway),
she did not set out to go to all 3 stores,
they just happen to be within blocks of each other. :) *
